The Order of Creation

When innovation meets tradition, the future is forged.”

History:

Varied are the people of Arthos, and just as diverse are their talents. Yet, one truth binds almost every soul in this world: the Craft is essential to their very existence. What is a warrior without their blade, shield, or armor? How would a mage master even the simplest of spells without their scrolls? Who would lift the fallen healer from the brink of death without a life-saving potion? How could the people of this land sleep soundly, knowing there was no lock to keep the malevolent forces at bay?

It is this undeniable truth that we embrace, dedicating our lives to perfecting the art of creation. Whether it is the Artificer, whose muscles are forged by years of crafting the finest armor and weapons, bringing ruin to their foes; the Chemist, whose unparalleled precision concocts elixirs capable of miraculous feats, where even a slight miscalculation could mean the difference between life and death; the Scroll Master, whose elegant strokes on parchment harness the very essence of the leylines, enabling those who decipher their secrets to perform extraordinary acts; or the Trapper, whose ingenuity and creativity construct the most formidable defenses, ensuring peaceful slumber for all.

These are the artisans we seek to join our ranks. We do not judge based on one’s faith in the Gods or Dragons, nor do we care about their past deeds before they took up their tools. What we hold in the highest regard is the passion and dedication they exhibit in their craft.

Along with honing one’s skills there are many among the Order of Creation who seek to expand the boundaries that have been set by those who have come beforehand, These intrepid artisans spend years learning not only their craft but also delving into the functions of other crafts as well. They are the members of Innovation and Experimentation. Often referred to as simply I&E. They are equally responsible for many of the new Blueprints and many of the largest explosions that happen within the Order,

If this stirs something within you, then perhaps the Craft is your destiny. Our members are not elusive; seek us out, and together, we shall forge a brighter future.

Known Origins:

The Order of Creation was officially founded in the year 2260, a pivotal moment in the crafting history of Arthos. The inception of this esteemed order is attributed to two remarkable individuals: Kovac Flametamer, an aged Mountain Dwarf renowned for his unparalleled skills in forging, and Yonath Immerwar, a Drael of mysterious origins from a minor house. Kovac, a seasoned traveler, had spent countless years journeying across Arthos, immersing himself in diverse techniques of forging and smithing. His relentless pursuit of perfection led him to experiment with various forms of crafting, seeking innovative ways to amalgamate their unique qualities.

Yonath, on the other hand, began her journey in the Alchemical arts while still residing with the Drael’Thalan. Her early education was steeped in the ancient and esoteric knowledge of her people, which she sought to expand upon in new and uncharted territories.

Their fateful and clandestine meeting occurred on the rugged shores of Dark Harbor around the year 2258. Kovac was scouring the coastline for residual Fulgurite, a rare and precious substance formed by lightning strikes, left behind by a fierce storm the previous night. Meanwhile, Yonath was meticulously cataloging the local flora, assessing their potential for her alchemical experiments in what she hoped would become her new home.

As is often the case with initial encounters between Dwarves and Elves, their first exchange was far from cordial. Suspicion and pride colored their words, each demanding to know the other’s purpose in this remote and desolate area. The air was thick with tension as they questioned each other’s motives, neither willing to back down.

However, as the conversation progressed, they discovered a shared passion for their respective crafts. This common ground became the foundation for a burgeoning partnership. They realized that the land around Dark Harbor offered all the resources necessary to pursue their ambitious goals. Recognizing the potential for their trades to flourish, they decided that the only way to truly advance their crafts was to collaborate and share their knowledge with others.

As the Order of Creation grew, Kovac and Yonath began to attract a diverse group of students, each bringing their unique talents and aspirations. Among these new recruits were individuals with a keen interest in the arcane art of scroll crafting and the intricate skill of trap making.

One of the first to join was Elara Windscribe, a young and ambitious human with a natural affinity for magic. Elara had spent years studying ancient tomes and practicing the delicate art of scroll crafting. Her ability to inscribe powerful spells onto parchment was unparalleled, and she quickly became a valuable member of the Order. Under Yonath’s guidance, Elara’s skills flourished. She learned to combine her magical prowess with alchemical techniques, creating scrolls that were not only potent but also uniquely tailored to the needs of the Order.

Elara’s scrolls became essential tools for the Order’s members, providing them with a wide array of spells that could be used in various situations. From healing and protection to offensive magic, her scrolls were meticulously crafted to ensure maximum effectiveness. Elara also took on the role of mentor, teaching new students the intricacies of scroll crafting and the importance of precision and care in their work.

Meanwhile, Kovac took a particular interest in a young dwarf named Thrain Ironfoot. Thrain had a natural talent for engineering and a fascination with traps. His keen mind and steady hands made him an expert in designing and constructing intricate mechanisms. Kovac saw great potential in Thrain and took him under his wing, teaching him the art of combining traditional dwarven craftsmanship with innovative trap-making techniques.

Thrain’s traps were masterpieces of engineering, designed to protect the Order’s stronghold and its members. From simple snares to complex mechanical devices, his creations were both effective and ingenious. Thrain’s traps not only served as a defense against potential threats but also became a subject of study for other students, who marveled at the precision and creativity involved in their construction.

As the Order of Creation continued to expand, the inclusion of scroll crafters and trap makers added new dimensions to its capabilities. The collaboration between different disciplines fostered an environment of innovation and learning, where students were encouraged to explore and push the boundaries of their crafts.

Kovac and Yonath’s vision of a place where artisans could come together to share knowledge and advance their skills was becoming a reality. The Order of Creation stood as a beacon of excellence in Arthos, attracting talented individuals from all corners of the land. Together, they worked towards a common goal: to master their crafts and create a legacy that would endure for generations to come.

Ranks:

Initiate– One who has shown a curiosity about crafting but has yet to choose their path. They are not permitted to wear any of the symbolism of the Order of Creation besides a blank light blue field

Apprentice– Once someone has chosen their desired craft they are assigned to a Fellowcraft who trains them on the basic talents that are required for them to hone their skills and progress their trade.

Fellowcraft- Once a member has developed their talents to the point where their Fellowcraft can no longer teach them, they are able to join their ranks. It is at this time that they are able to assist the Master with their crafts and are also able to take on a student. Once you have achieved the rank of Fellowcraft, a master will choose you and you will begin the journey to the pinnacle of your chosen calling.

Master- Members of the Order of Creation who have reached this rank have attained the pinnacle of their craft. Their works draw people from all over Arthos. Many have traveled great distances to have a Sword whose edge can split a single hair or a tincture whose effects have not been duplicated anywhere else made by an Order of Creation Master. The rank of Master has 4 Rites within it that are determined by which craft they practice.

Dwarven Rite Master– Artifice

Diminis Rite Master– Scroll Master

Drael Rite Master– Chemist

Gnomish Rite Master– Master Trapper

Grandmaster– Once a year, the esteemed members of the Order of Creation who have attained the rank of Master convene in a grand assembly to elect one among them to ascend to the revered position of Grandmaster. Although this rank is largely ceremonial, the Grandmaster holds the ultimate authority on any decisions requiring a vote among the Order’s members and serves as the Order’s dignified representative at all significant festivities and gatherings. During their term, each Grandmaster dedicates themselves to crafting a new masterpiece, a creation of extraordinary and miraculous capability, which they present to their successor upon their initiation. These masterpieces not only enhance the Order’s prestige among the elite crafters but also symbolize the Grandmaster’s legacy. No individual may serve as Grandmaster for more than one consecutive term, and they are ineligible for re-election to this position for five years following the conclusion of their term.
